Haven't played with the voice thing yet, but the load time is now amazing, and I like the cool transitions from screen to screen.  Nice work VZW!

To:FA1SGL   As usual, my quick trip to the lg-dare site brings new info. Thanks for the news on
the VZ Navigator Update. Followed instructions and it worked perfectly of course. Glad kickinbar
raised the" I can't find" issue, I had the same problem.  harley34

I like the Voice feature.  I usually have four bars EVDO and I noticed Navigator is quicker off the mark than before.  I also like the page transitions.  It did give me some odd results but I figure it it was based on my restrictive criteria for a navigation.  Gave me a 3000 mile trip route for a 281 mile journey.

Scenic but way too long.

still ain't worth yet another addon price of $10/month in my eyes.  would rather use a stand alone gps that will work everywhere, and not just where i have cell phone reception.  though few and far between, i did vacation up in the Upper Peninsula last summer and there were tons of cell phone dead spots.  just my .02

I am fortunate in that everywhere I go it gets good EVDO...I have only one known dead spot and that is only a wee bit in the NIMBY zone....

i HATE the new update!!!!!!   since i have updated vznav, i have had nothing but trouble.  when i try to get directions or anything else, it just keeps ''requesting''.    i have to click on the ''back'' button and keep trying over and over till it feels like working.  i updated my wifes phone last night to see if maybe it was just my phone, but hers is acting the same way.

*ive restarted my phone, so i know thats not the problem. is there a way to get the old version back onto my phone??  i use vznav daily for work, and cant afford takeing 10 minutes or more to get directions.
its not the signal either. i had full bars and tried from many locations across the area.

I don't know why you are having problems.  I have played with the new version and have had no problems with it at all.

I have even gotten used to the voice feature which can be handy when on the road and you cannot type in what you want.

I don't think you can unbell the cat.  Once you have upgraded to Ver 4.5.1 there is no going back.

You could try deleting and reinstalling it. The update might only be available as a separate download.

I like the new version but I am having issues with the new voice function.  After install I couldn't get it to work and read the post about restarting the phone.  I tried this and the function worked for a short while.  Now it seems if my phone has been turned on for any length of time, it no longer registers the voice imput and again I have to restart my phone.  Anyone know of a solution other then constantly turning my phone on and off? Any idea what it is that might be causing the voice function not to work in the first place?

Has anyone had trouble downloading the update?  Every time I try, the download status bar gets about 1/4 of the way in and then it just stops.  I get a message stating that the install failed.  I'm using v05.  I've tried turning the phone off and restarting.  This has happened about 5 times now.  Any ideas?

to:  iflytsa I don't know why it needs to be rebooted after the version update or why you lose voice and have to reboot to get it back.  I would suggest you call 611 and get tech support.  I doubt if a CSR rep would be able to help you.

to: Q-Ball All I can think of that might have an affect on your ability to handle the version update is if you are in a non or very low EVDO area.  As with iflytsa if you are receiving good signal than you should be able to update without problem and I suggest a call to 611 tech support.

If tech support cannot assist, on your next run by a Verizon store, have them update using their equipment.

I've been having problems with the voice since I upgraded VZ Nav sometimes it would work but most of the times it didn't. Deleted it and reinstalled it about 10 times and was still having problems.

Just got off the phone with tech support so if anyone is having problems with the voice reconition here's what we did to fix it.

1. Uninstall VZ Nav, go to Media Center/ Browse & Download/ VZ Navigator then press the little gear icon.

2. Press cancel subscription and it will delet VZ Nav from ur phone.

3. This is the most important step.... Take ur battey out while ur phone is still on ***Do not turn ur phone off*** using the power button!!!!

4. Reinsert battery and now use the power button to turn ur phone back on. Go back to browse & download and reinstall VZ Navigator. This should solve the voice problem.

Now i have turned my phone off and on went back to VZ Nav let my phone sit idle and used VZ Nav again and it still works great. Before when I would do this the voice would stop working so all good. Cheesy

Hopes this helps
