1. Download and install DVD Decrypter http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/DVD_Decrypter/1011845169/1

2. Download and install Super Converter http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

3. Put in the DVD you want to rip, and open DVD Decrypter.

4. Under “Mode” select “IFO”. The software should auto select the largest/longest video clip. All the Chapters and Cells should also be checked.

5. Under “Tools” select "Settings" and head to the “IFO Mode” tab. On the “File Splitting” dropdown select “None”. Hit OK to exit out of settings.

6. Select the “Stream Processing” tab (Right side of main window) and check the box “Enable Stream Processing”. Uncheck all the boxes in the list except the “Video” and the “Audio” in English.

7. On the left side there is a “Destination” option. Select the folder you want to rip the *.VOB file to.

8. Once all your settings are set, click the picture of the DVD > Harddrive to start the process. Only takes about 20 min on my computer. Times may very. File will be a few gigs at least so make sure you have room. Be sure its finished before you move to the next step.

9. Now Open Super. All of the needed options are right there from the get go.

10. Go down to the bottom where it says "filename" and right click. An options menu comes up. Select "Add Multimedia File(s)"

11. Find your .vob file from where you saved it with DVD Decrypter and select it. It will show up in the menu.

12. The following are my own settings. Feel free to experiment, please.

14. Once everything is filled in, hit the “Encode (Active Files)”

15. This can be a timely process with older computers.

16. When its done you will have your movie (in quicktime format .3g2) in the Super directory/Output (where ever you installed the super program).

17. To get this to your phone/sd card, just copy and paste it while your phone is connected to your computer via usb cable.

18. To do so you need to connect your phone to your computer and go to the tools menu of your phone and select USB Mass Storage. Your computer will see your phone as an external drive and you can paste your movie to the flix folder on your phone.

19. Or you can do the other obvious option and take your sd card out of your phone and put it in your computer's card reader and copy/paste it that way.

20. Your movie is now on your phone. Enjoy.

DVD Decrypter section was provided by Bug Splat. Thanks.

You have to click through a couple of "We do what no other can do" pages to get to the download link on http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html

Scroll to the bottom of the screen to find the "Download SUPER ©  setup file" link.

BTW, you can save your settings using the "Export" function that comes up when you right-click on the main display. Useful if you convert videos for a number of devices.

That first part looks awwwwwfully familiar  Wink. Nice post.

I have been playing around with Super and have found that I must change the screen ratio depending on the video I rip. Have you noticed the same? I really like how Super can get the videos down below 90mb if I wanted to.

I was playing around with this before work and I managed to get a 23 minute rip (I think it was one chapter) of a dvd down to ~50 mb.  The video quality is pretty good but the sound was rather quiet compared to an episode of Weeds I converted from avi to mp4 using a different program. That file remained at about ~170 mb, though, and the video quality wasn't noticably better.  I'm not sure why my movie only came out at 23 minutes, I probably didn't check all the chapters or something.  I'll play with it more when I get home.  Pretty sweet, though, good work bug and nastro.

and just in case some dont know what you mean by look in the output file of super to find your movie you want to put on your phone......... maybe an easier way but i right clicked on start and then clicked explore. then clicked the program files folder. then clicked the folder named eRightSoft. then clicked the super folder. and lastly click the folder named output. drag and drop your movie into the my flix folder on your phone.

Explore>program files folder>eRightSoft folder>Super folder>Output

OK after playing around with Super a lot more (converted the same movie 15 times) I think I found setup that works for me.

Rather then setting in for 3P2 format, I set it to MP4 (option 1.). This gives you many more options for Video Scale Size. What I do now is open the Movie I am ripping with VLC Media Player and peek at the screen size and compare it to the Img I made below for you all. If your movie is wide screen I find 368:208 works great. Anyway, the size chart I made has helped me pick the right sizes, hope it helps you all too.

Not sure haven't had that problem yet. I'm no pro with either one of these programs either. So I would try to figure it out on your own and post an answer in case someone else has this problem.

I JUST HAVE A QUICK QUESTION ABOUT THE SETTINGS IN SUPER. DOES A HIGHER BIT RATE MAKE BETTER QUALITY VIDEOS? WHAT ABOUT HIGHER FRAMES PER SECOND? IF I AM USING THE 3P2 FORMAT WHAT ARE THE BEST SETTING FOR ASPECT RATIOS ON WIDESCREEN AND STANDARD MOVIES? ALSO WHAT SCALE SHOULD I USE FOR BOTH KINDS OF MOVIES. SOME OF THE MOVIES LOOK SQUISHED AND GRAINY AND I DONT KNOW WHAT SETTINGS TO CHANGE TO.  THANKS

ALSO DOE ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG THE BATTERY LASTS WHEN WATCHING A MOVIE? WILL IT MAKE IT THROUGH A WHOLE MOVIE OR MORE?

is it just me, or does the "Videos" section of the Dare load slower when you have large movie files on the phone

i have a 2 hour 30 minute video (about 700mb) on it, and the app loads slowly, it's fine, but i wanna see if i'm the only one

A higher Bit rate will give you a better picture. You can also try a larger frame size too. I ripped a 1:36 min movies using 3010kbps at 368:208 and it came out to about 250mb. Quality looked much better then say 1000kbps but at a 100mb cost. I'm still trying to get the quality I got with Vidoera but size for size Super does a great job. If anyone has figured out how to increase the audio gain on the movies that would be awesome! My movies play very softly which is fine in a room by myself but outside, forget listening to it via speakerphone.

My 500mb+ Videos take about 5 seconds to open up. Not super fast but i would not call it slow either.
