I haven't had this problem, although I know you can actually turn the clock off in Display Settings. But I don't have any answers for the phone turning off on you when you go into Display Settings - sorry! Does it turn off on you every time you go into display settings and is that the only menu in which this occurs?

Its only when trying to access Display Settings and yes every time. Its so frustrating because I use my phone as a clock a lot.

yea, I hear you there I use my phone all the time to know the time and date. I really wish I could help you out, but I don't know what to tell you about the phone shutting off on you. There are many people on here thought that are a lot smarter than me so just give it some time and I'm sure someone else will have a good post! Huh?

hmm....No idea why it would do that. Only advice I can offer is take it back to the VZW store and exchange it for a new DARE. Sorry to hear that man.

I HAD THIS PROBLEM THIS MORNING TOO!

i just restored the factory settings, and i was able to go to the display settings again. and my clock came back
((i found this answer on answers.yahoo.com))

I was able to reset the phone by doing the following:

1) Settings & Tools
2) Phone Settings
3) Security --> Phone Lock Code (usually last 4 digits of phone #)
4) Reset Default --> OK

Remember to Reset instead of Restore if you want to keep your phone data. You should be able to get to display settings after this.
