I had an iPhone for 7 months and only got one (very small) scratch within that time... So far no scratches on the Dare's screen..although I've only had that or a few days...so I can't really give you a good comparision..

The worst problem with a iphone is at&t does not have a protection plan like verizon does.  So you break it and your screwed.  I love Verizon!!

No The Dare phone is a plastic screen.  It will scratch far easier than a glass screen, however it won't break like the glass iphone can (requiring you to send it in for replacement).

yea thats a valid point...just another area where at&t has screwed up...how do you sell a record high, $600 phone (when it first came out), and not offer any kind of protection plan...thats just beyond me...unless I was some business CEO and 600 bucks meant nothing to me id be pretty nervous to drop down that kind of money on a phone...especially the first phone from apple, not knowing the types of problems that could be in store. (again, referring to when it first came out.)

agreed, but thats just Apple making its own rules because it knows it can.  VZW refused to sign the iphone deal for that very reason.  they didnt want to give Apple the amount of profits or rights that they demanded over the phone.  it sucks, but its what you know going in.

HOWEVER - since its release its had LITTLE complaints or obvious gliches in the function and/or software.
The same cannot be said for ANY other cell phone.  That alone says a lot for the iphone.  If it had problems everyone on YouTube would be badmouthing it, and it would not still have the reputation it has.  Apple reserved the rights it did over the iphone because they knew they could - and people would still pay for it - because it was/is that good.

no, I'm an objective reviewer.  would I be a Global Moderator on this forum if I wasnt very hopeful that this would be the answer to our prayers with VZW?
I may return the iphone as well.  I admit the iphones shortcomings.
No removable battery, no instore service or protection, weak virtual QWERTY...and theres others that I'm not thinking of at the moment.  These are all major downfalls, especially those that cost extra money.

Like I said though...touch is either a useful function of the phone, or a gimmick that can hinder your ease and speed.  You can form your own opinion.

well i have to agree with radarkid...alathough i will never get an iphone because it is on at&t, that doesnt mean i wouldnt go for the phone itself if i could get it on verizon...protection plan aside, it really does work nearly flawlessly...like radarkid said, that cant be said about any other phones...apple clearly has some tricks up their sleaves...
