Logged FA1SGL Guest Re: Dare's GPS « Reply #1 on: August 14, 2008, 09:25:17 PM » The "GPS" on board as such is a misnomer.  You do not have a standalone GPS as is implied in the description of the Dare.  The map datum is off the phone, the phone is not utilizing the geosynchronous satellite system directly.  To utilize the "GPS" you have to d/l the app and pay Verizon either $9.99 per month or $2.99 per day...too pricey IMHO.
