Well after many trials and failures using Rhapsody and BitPim here is my solution to the video problem...

First turn on your phone and go to Settings and Tools then select USB Auto Detection then select "Ask on Plug".  If not the default is music and that won't work for videos and pic's.

Next hook up your phone via your USB cable click on the "data" selection then on your phone go to "Setting and Tools" then to "Tools" then touch the "USB Mass Storage".  This will hook your phone to your pc.  You will get a pop up window that asks how you would like to open, (at least I do in XP) scroll down to the icon that is the folder that says open with windows explorer.  This will bring up all your folders in your phone.

Next if you already don't have a 3GP converter get one... there everywhere and if you look hard enough you'll get a free one.

Take the video that you want on your phone convert it to 3GP and save it in a folder somewhere.  I just made a folder up called converted videos.  Now that you can see what is in your phone the folders that is double click on the my_flix folder and open it.  Then take your converted video and drag and drop it into your my_flix folder and bingo you have it.

The same process works for pic's and music too.  Just pick out whatever photo or music you want and drag and drop it into the appropriate folder.

My final step was to go and delete Bitpim and Rhapsody but that is always and option... Hope this is self explainatory and does help everyone to get the vid's, music and pic's on there phone.

Best Wishes!

One more thing I'd like to add onto this is that if you have movies or TV shows in iTunes, I don't care how you got them but the Dare supports that format as well. So if you follow the instructions above you can drag and drop movies/shows from your iTunes to your Dare.

no u don't need a memory card you just hook it up to the computer!
i use this method. if you add a ringtone though you have to add it to the
sounds folder on your phone && then send the sound to your self using
a text message, once you do that open it up and click "save sound as ringtone"\
and wala it is now in the ringtones folder and you can go back and delete it from
the sound folder lol! Smiley Wink Cheesy Grin Angry Shocked Cool Huh? :Smiley Tongue Embarrassed Lips Sealed Undecided Kiss Cry

Wow I don't really know about that, the card that is... apparently you have to have a card in it.  There not to expensive and something you would probably want to invest in anyway if your planning on putting a bunch of media on your phone.

I personally just have a 2gig which will probably hold that I want it to seeing that I only have short videos and not full length programs... You can get those for around $25.00... Check out e-bay for a micro sd card...

Barnsworth, you are brilliant Grin.  After spending hours and hours with Verizon technical support, Rhapsody (who told me the Dare was not compatible with Rhapsody. Really?) and another hour at the Verizon store, I NOW HAVE MUSIC on my Dare.  I an running Vista, so in your instructions: "You will get a pop up window that asks how you would like to open, (at least I do in XP)", I did not get a pop up window.  All I had to do was manually open Windows Explorer and do a "drag and drop".  I have tried every other work around that I could find here and at other sites, and this one is it!  It did not bring along the artwork, but frankly, at this point I couldn't care less.  Hopefully, Verizon will come up with an appropriate driver for this function.  I think they were less interested in making this a functional feature as advertised, and more interested in pushing the 14.99/month Rhapsody service.  One look at the worthless owner's manual was enough to convince me that they seriously don't want you to succeed in loading your own mp3s.  Thanks again Barnsworth!

Oddly enough, I could not get music on the phone using this similar method.  Everything else loaded.  The only way I could get the music installed was choosing "music" instead of "data".  Music was in the folders on the computer but as soon as I would go and get them on the phone they weren't there.  I don't get it.

Barnsworth, I'm new here and also a little late on replying to your post about the micro sd cards. But if you or anyone else is interested, there is a site called cellphoneshop.net that has way cheap cards. As well as a bunch of other accessories. Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know about it.
