Okay, first off, there is no water damage, and only a few scratches on the BOTTOM of the phone.

However, my phone is going crazy.  It continues to call the last person on the "Recent Calls" list, opens my messages, sometimes deletes them, and closes out.  It also tells me that the "Headphone Jack will need to be removed before I can make any calls." There's nothing plugged into it...It also turns off while I'm looking through my messages or pictures.  But the thing that bugs me the most, is that the ear-piece (?) doesn't work.  (Meaning the part you put to your ear during a phone call.)

My friends and family can hear what I'm saying just fine, but I can't hear a single thing they're saying.  It seems to be dead for two days.  It started doing this on October 10, at about 4pm.

**It won't even let me use speaker phone (a solution to the Samsung Alias).**

I have insurance on the phone, but will I have to pay for a replacement? Or will they give me a replacement for free since it's a phone problem, and not anything that I've done to it?

 Huh? Huh? Huh?

Since the phone is having problems in a wide range of areas trying to diagnose it and suggest a fix over this forum is doomed to failure.

1.  Warranty it out.
2.  Insurance it out.
3.  Take it to a Verizon store that has a bench tech (not all do)

Hopefully when you have it in store it will replicate at least some of the problems.  Phones have the irritating habit of acting brand new out of box when facing replacement.

I talked to a lady today at a local Verizon store (not a tech store, but she was some help) and she said that they should give me one for free when I told her what it was doing.

And she also said that it has a one year manufacturer's warranty and that should cover it.  Is she right?

You might want to get confirmation from a second source (Verizon).  Call 611 and ask.  Go to the LG website and check.  I know that within the 30 days it is no questions asked basically.  I believe for the one year through the manufacturer it has to be a proven defect.  I am not really sure how that works.
