Hey all,

Looked around for this issue but haven't been able to find a resolution for it. My touchscreen is going crazy. It pushes everything by itself. It's touching even when I'm not touching it. For example, as soon as I unlock the phone it clicks an option by itself. It goes off when i'm on the phone with someone and its impossible to text sometimes because it presses all kinds of letters. Don't know what it could be. Haven't dropped it much and its never had any water damage. I have to keep it locked so it won't press all kinds of buttons. Anyone had this problem or know a solution to this problem? Really not trying to buy another phone. Re-calibrated it and it's a little better than what it previous was but its still bad.

Thanks

Sorry I can't help with diagnosing or fixing the problem, but if it comes down to replacing the touch screen assembly, a search garners a post by vpnavy with 3 parts vendors listing a replacement LCD screen:

Here's another topic mentioning a screen kit with instructions available on evilbay...sorry ebay:

As a clock-maker on this forum, I must stress that the use of any file presented (.swf flash clock file or other), and the required use of BitPim to install on one's phone, is without recourse, is at one's own risk and that the providers of these files are making no guarantees of suitability and/or subsequent damages, etc, etc. - Simply put: download, install and use these flash clocks solely at your own risk.

Having the same issue. THe phone has become "self-aware" and is commanding itself. Had protective covers for entire life of phone, never dropped hard or damages - but the day the phone turned 2 years old it goes haywire... time for the new HTC Incredible?

I had he same problem with my phone and my husband fixed
it for me!! This was after Verizon said it would have to be replaced of course. After reading some of the threads on here about how anything pressing on it at all can affect it he noticed a small ding on the edge of the plastic around the screen. He shaved this back away from the screen and it helped but didn't fix it completely. He noticed he got some "gunk" on the tip of his knife as he scraped so he pressed it in at one end and while pushing out from the screen slightly ran it down the groove between screen and border and he removed a fair amount of residual buildup. Repeated on each side a couple times and screen is back to normal. Hope this helps someone!!

i just started having this problem yesterday, but its localized to one part of the screen - where the number 7 would be on the dialpad. i will try your solution, hopefully it works.
