i have no idea if this will even work and i cant write flash or any of that stuff but...i saw a few people asking about it and i know it would solve the unlocking in pocket problem so
i know that we can change the fun animations to flash clocks and that changing the world clock and ez tip calculator is also possible.. so why cant someone make a slide2unlock "game" in flash, and to win said game you have to slide the icon and unlock the phone, at that point it would close or maybe even give you and "unlocked" confirmation. oh and you'd have to turn off the 'autolock' feature on your dare and put it on the desktop and open it manually when you want it to lock....
again i have no idea if this is even possible, just wishful thinking i guess
is this a stupid idea or the coolest idea ever.....any feedback would be appreciated

Sounds like it will always be on and drain your battery. Then you would have to get into programming and have the game work with dimming the screen. Every time anything touched the screen, it would turn on.
I think that's how it would go.

This guy butch52 has something kind of like it.
You touch it to make the arrow show. Then slide it over. Then you hit the red button.
Then there is another button to close it again...

http://www.butchgraphics.com/lgdare/mac-look.html

Check that out. Pretty cool. Just not for me.

EDIT - Backlight always dims. You can set when. The thing is dims and turns off.
Two different things. If you turn off the unlock feature any key press will turn on the screen and if it's rubbing around your pocket, would stay on, make phone calls, etc...

That's how I think it would work. Because it would be very hard to implement locking and sliding to unlock together. If it was possible, I'm sure people would have had it done.

didnt think of it like that just was trying to avoid, if it ended up working, two button presses to unlock it. ah well..didnt know having you dreams shattered would hurt so bad  haha  laugh EDIT:jus so it gets noticed, does someone wanna make it anyway i jus wanna see it...

No dreams shattered. Just saying, that's what I think it would do. Then it would be pushing twice to unlock it. Ew. Sad

well i did find something like this on a LG Vu forum. granted it is a different phone. but i did get a flash version of s2u replaced it with the world clock and it didnt work right at all. in fact after i ran it it restarted my phone. so i am guessing this is a lost cause. mods feel free to archive this since it will prolly just sit and take up forum space..

Did you see how the Vu operates?
Do you have to hit unlock to use it. I'm sure there should be a way to modify it.

Hey this might be an idea.  If instead of replacing the wallpaper with a s2u feature, you could try to use bitpim to find the file that is the unlock feature (tap in the corner) and then replace it with a slide to unlock?
